Blog family,
I am looking for suggestions on ways to update and modernize my blog. Now, I am not very computer savvy so I have no idea how to do all the fancy stuff. I could really use suggestions or instruction on a few things in the following areas:
Where to find new free blog templates
How to upload pictures and place them where I want them
How to create slide shows
How to link YouTube videos
How to create and post my own videos
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

ReplyDeleteFirst off you need a bit of time on your hands.
Second, click on your dashboard and play around a bit, a lot of it is trial and error. (thats how I learnt.)
When writing a new post there is a tool bar with icons that is along the top. Click on the icon beside 'link' this enables you to upload pics stored on your computer.
To upload Youtube vids you may need a utube account (at least we do in England) you upload from the youtube site.
Slide shows can be created from another site or directly from someone elses page. Click on 'make your own slideshow' it will take you to the site you need.
All in all, you will need some 'playtime' to work it all out. Happy blogging :)
I agree with Nai, if you are just starting out you need a lot of time.
ReplyDeleteBlogger just updated some new templates you may find some that you like. Go to your dashboard find your blog and click on Design, this will then let you change your template, and even how many colums you want for ex. 3 columns. It also lets you pick you font and colors.
However if you don't like any of those you can google free blogger templates and several sites should pop up. in order to change your whole template you would have to remove your old one and that is under Settings and then Design and then Edit HTML, however if you just want to change the background you can also google free blogger backgrounds and place the text for a new background in the add a gadget space under html box. I hope this insnt confusing.
Another thing if you do decide to change your entire template , you may or maynot lose your widgets( for example the fish that you have, so you should save them first just in case. Maybe you should open a new blog just as a test one to play around with until you figure things out. I hope this has helped some. Take Care
